JENNIE I. MALNER, 94, Grand Marais, died July 31, 2002 at the Cook County Care Center.
She was born Jan. 24, 1908 to John and Ulricka Leif.  She was the first child born in Colvill Township.
She went to East Colvill School to the eighth grade.
She married Albert Malner in 1927, and moved to Croftville.  She worked as a homemaker through the years, where she enjoyed making doughnuts, crocheting and sewing.
She was a member of First Congregational Church.
She is survived by three sons, Gerald (Jean) and Roger (Pat), both of Apache Junction, AZ, and Gene (Irene) of Grand Marais; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 1984.
A memorial service w2ill be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at First Congregational Church.
